This Conference is being hosted in the context of the World Summit on Sustainable Development, the recognition of the special circumstances that effect Small Island Developing States and Territories and the role of academic institutions in this scenario. The Organising Committee would like to attract quality papers for presentation at the Workshop Sessions. These will be structured to give all participants the opportunity to contribute to the discussion and development of important current issues facing these states and territories.

The four sub-themes for this Conference are:

-                      Land Management and Land Information

-                      Community-Township/Urban-Rural Development

-                      Architecture and Design

-                      Technology and Resources

How to Submit Papers

Abstracts of between 300 and 500 words should include a cover page consisting of:

-                      The title of the paper

-                      Author, and affiliation

-                      E-mail address, telephone and fax numbers

The document should be in Microsoft Word, on letter size paper, and double-spaced. The font should be sharp. It should be electronically transferred to the Conference Secretariat as indicated below by February 15, 2005.

The article should not have been published previously, nor should it be up for consideration elsewhere. Authors should indicate clearly to which of the four sub-themes their paper relates and whether they will need any audio/video facilities in presenting their paper.

Notification of Acceptance

Notification will be sent by electronic mail to reach the authors by mid-March, 2005. Successful applicants must submit the full text of not more than 6000 words by June 15, 2005.

The Committee reserves the right not to consider any papers submitted in an incorrect format, or after the closing date. Papers will only be included in the programme after the author has registered for the Conference.
